The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of Nazareth College of
Rochester, New York, invites applications for a one year renewable
Lecturer to begin August 2022. The department seeks
candidates committed to inclusive excellence in undergraduate

arts curricula and professional programs. We expect educators with

Applicants should have a M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely
related field and demonstrated experience educating diverse
populations of students.
The Nazareth College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is
located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for
integrated math and science that was recently ranked 20th for Best
Science Lab Facilities by the Princeton Review. Peckham Hall
features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition
to various updated instrumentation available for both research and

The successful candidate is expected to teach general chemistry and
general science for non-majors. Primary teaching
responsibilities include contributions to the first year chemistry
program (General Chemistry and General Chemistry Lab) and a general
science lecture and lab.
Required Education
M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate is expected to teach general chemistry.
Primary teaching responsibilities include contributions to the
first year chemistry program (General Chemistry and/or Prep
Chemistry lecture and General Chemistry Lab), and courses in the
college core curriculum (SCI PEQ’s).
