Indiana Tech invites candidates to
apply for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechatronics &
Robotics Engineering position. This is a tenure-track, 9-month
teaching position in face-to-face and online course delivery. This
position will be responsible for teaching courses which support the
mission of the university. A qualified candidate will be able to
teach courses that cover topics including mechanical engineering,
and upper-level courses in mechatronics and robotics engineering,
including Introduction to Mechatronics, Robotics, Instrumentation
and Automation Controls, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering
Senior Project I & II. The position includes teaching four
courses per semester assigned by the Dean and holding eight office
hours per week.
Responsibilities include professional
development, student development, and service to the College of
Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Additional responsibilities include,
but are not limited to, fulfilling service and professional
development as outlined in the tenure process, student development
by advising and fostering relationships with students both in and
out of the classroom, and serving the College of Engineering and
Computer Sciences. Other principal duties include leading in the
development of new programs and the improvement of existing
programs and curricula, maintaining academic records of courses to
assist in specialized accreditation, designing and revising
curriculum for optimal student success, participating in student
recruiting and retention initiatives, as well as supporting the
mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of
Technology.
The successful candidate will
collaborate with colleagues, work closely with other programs in
the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences and other degree
programs on campus. This faculty position reports to the Dean of
the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Doctorate degree in mechanical
engineering, or a closely related engineering field with
specialization in a field related to robotics and/or mechatronics
engineering and college-level teaching experience are required. The
preferred candidate will have experience in both online teaching
and online academic program and curriculum development.
Demonstration of the ability to work with a diverse student
population, and demonstration of developing effective relationships
with students that prepare students for academic and career success
are necessary. Experience in ABET accredited engineering programs
and industry experience are desired. Experience with a Learning
Management System and ability to use technology effectively is
required. Faculty rank will be commensurate with academic
credentials and experience.
