  • WALLA WALLA, Washington

The department of Mathematics and Statistics at Whitman College invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to start Fall 2022. A Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field is required. An equal opportunity employer, Whitman values diversity and encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups.

The successful candidate will offer courses in Introductory and Advanced Statistics, Probability Theory, and Statistical Modeling as well as courses that contribute to the College's general education requirements. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise complements existing departments and programs other than mathematics (such as biology, economics, environmental studies, or psychology). The standard annual teaching load is five courses. The College provides a generous pre-tenure sabbatical leave program and professional development support for both research and teaching.
