Apartment Assignment & Systems Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Apartment Assignment & Systems Coordinator (AASC) is responsible for coordinating the daily operation and assignments for new and returning residents of the Apartment area and the overall welfare and care of those students. This position provides direct coordination of apartment application and assignments. They will assist with assessment and implementation of the apartment housing assignment process within the electronic housing management system and provides a high level of customer service to students, prospective students, visitors, families, and friends.
This position works closely with all units within Housing and Residence Life as well as campus partners including UI Facilities, Auxiliary Services, and Vandal Card Office. AASC provides complex administrative support and high-level customer service to students and families for the Housing and Residence Life department.
The AASC reports to the Assistant Director for Housing Operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrators
• Experience managing a variety of projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
• Experience interpreting, applying and explaining administrative policies to others
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working with college-aged students
• Experience working in higher education setting
• Experience with housing software
• Demonstrated ability to create and promote an inclusive community
• Demonstrated ability to foster student success
• Skills in office management
