Tenure-Line Assistant or Associate Professor in Hydrogeology

The Department of Geosciences at The Pennsylvania State University, in University Park, PA invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in the field of Hydrogeology, to be filled at the rank of assistant or associate professor, depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. We seek a creative colleague who will develop a vigorous externally funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in geosciences.

Applicants for the Assistant Professor Rank should have:

• A PhD in Earth Science or a related field by the time of appointment.

• A PhD in Earth Science or a related field by the time of appointment
  
• An excellent teaching and mentoring track record
  
• An excellent research and publication track record
  
• Demonstrated service to the profession
  

The Department of Geosciences is part of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and houses top-ranked research programs in environmental and climate sciences, geology, geophysics, and geochemistry. Water is an important component of the University Strategic Plan, and Penn State hosts several campus-wide initiatives in water resources through, for example, the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment (http://www.iee.psu.edu) and the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (http://www.eesi.psu.edu).
