As a full-time faculty member, the Assistant Professor of Graphic Design will work closely with the Director of Graphic Design to lead and grow the Graphic Design program and its associated certificates under the leadership of the Department of Art, Design, and Art History's chairperson. The faculty member will also work to develop online/remote offerings in Graphic Design as well as contribute to the broader programs of DADAH, including the foundations program, summer camps, and the advising, reviews, and programmatic assessments. Additional primary responsibilities include maintaining a sustained scholarly or creative profile, university and departmental service, and advising/mentoring students.

Minimum Qualifications
BFA in Graphic Design minimum (with professional experience) Proficiency in technologies relevant to the graphic design field, such as Adobe Creative Suites, including Premiere, After Effects and Adobe XD as well as a working knowledge of and the ability to teach e-publishing, digital imaging, typography, graphic design theory are also required. Familiarity with a MAC based working environment is expected.

Preferred Qualifications
MFA or MA in Graphic Design preferred

Essential Duties
Teach the equivalent of 3 3-credit courses/semester, most in the Graphic Design curriculum, with occasional courses in other areas that serve the department or university (foundations, GCP, etc.)Advise DADAH students with particular focus on Graphic Design majorsWork with Director of Graphic Design to oversee, develop, and grow the Graphic Design program: advising Webster University Chapter of AIGA managing computer labs and design facilities managing and evaluating design adjunctsParticipate in regular departmental reviews of students including entrance, ongoing, and end-of-program reviewsPerform service to the department and the university through committee work and other opportunities, which includes but is not limited to assisting Director of Graphic Design in managing computer labs and design facilities; assisting in managing and evaluating design adjuncts; program assessments; outreach and promotion
