Woodbury University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor to develop and pilot curricula for a new Environmental Science program. Housed in the College of Liberal Arts, the B.S. in Environmental Science is initially supported by a Title V Hispanic Serving Institution Sustainability Programs grant. The faculty member will have a master’s degree or higher, or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline, at least three years’ experience in postsecondary instruction, experience in curriculum design, and professional expertise in environmental science. Central to the curriculum are interdisciplinary, problem-based lab courses that challenge students to develop links between the theory and practice of environmental science and the possible manifestations of scientific discovery in real-world, social contexts. We seek applicants with interdisciplinary approaches who can work collaboratively with other Sustainability Programs majors.

Faculty rank and salary are commensurate with teaching experience, professional background, and the degrees held. Contract renewal and rank advancement at Woodbury are contingent upon satisfying departmental and university criteria, which include effective teaching, meaningful engagement through creative work, scholarship, and service to the University. Woodbury University is a non-tenure granting institution.

The position begins in August 2022.
