    RESPONSIBILITIES: Saint Mary's College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is pleased to announce 3 Postdoctoral

    Resident positions for the 2022- 2023 academic year, beginning in mid August of 2022, and concluding first week of June, 2023. T

    he Residency requires a 9.5 month, 42.5 hours per week commitment in order to meet California licensing requirements of 1500

    hours supervised postdoctoral experience. This is a benefits eligible position and includes paid holidays, sick time and vacation.

    Clinical responsibilities include individual and group psychotherapy, intake assessment, crisis intervention, triage, on-call, outreach

    and consultation. Other duties include program development, workshops, classroom presentations, and special projects as assigned.

    CAPS collaborates with many departments including the Athletic Department, Health and Wellness Center, Intercultural Center, Residence

    Life, Center for Women and Gender Equity and Campus Assault Response and Education Center. The Postdoctoral Resident actively

    reaches out to underrepresented populations such as students from a low socioeconomic group, first-generation college students,

    LGBTQIA community, students with disabilities and students of color. The training component of the Postdoctoral position includes

    individual and group supervision, case conference and training on special topics. The Counseling Center's theoretical orientation is

    primarily psychodynamic with a strong emphasis on relational and cross-cultural theories.

    Experience and Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications: Psy.D, Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology completed by start date of August of 2022. Verification by chair required.

    Preferred Qualifications: College/University Counseling Center experience at practicum and/or internship level. Sports Psychology

    and experience working with athletes are highly preferable not required. Fluency in Spanish in a therapy setting is desired but not required .
