The History Department of Rowan University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Digital History to begin in the fall of 2022. The subfield is open but with a strong preference for candidates in environmental history, the history of science and medicine, and Latinx history. The applicant will teach upper-level courses in their area of specialty and may also teach surveys. They will be part of a new Digital Humanities cluster in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and will work on joint efforts on researching and teaching digital history. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of employment as well as evidence of an ongoing research agenda and effective college teaching. The successful candidate will have experience in digital methods, theories, and applications and the ability to help coordinate and develop a curriculum in digital history. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and to building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. A 2/2 teaching load for the first six years.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is the second-largest college at Rowan University with seven departments, a Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, and nineteen majors.
