Job Description: 

Longwood University’s AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics invites applications for part-time faculty to teach courses in its growing and highly successful online MBA program. Designed to foster the transition into leadership positions for working professionals regardless of whether they have an undergraduate degree in a business discipline, our MBA requires 31 semester credit hours, is 100% asynchronous online, and may be completed in as little as 10 months. The MBA includes a core of eight courses and the following track options: general business, marketing, data analytics, and real estate fulfilled through two electives. A course term is seven weeks, and there are six terms in a calendar year.

We seek highly qualified faculty who are experienced in delivering an exceptional on-line learning experience for working professionals in the following fields:

  • Accounting
  • Data Analytics
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Information Systems
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Real Estate

 

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in the course discipline.
  • Either an active research agenda with two refereed journal publications in the most recent five-year period, or a highly successful with extensive current experience in the field.
  • Residence and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Evidence of successfully teaching in an online environment. Experience teaching at the graduate level online preferred.
  • Experience with Canvas as a learning management system preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Quality Matters preferred.
  • Completion of Longwood Online Technology Institute (LOTI) training prior to teaching the first class.
  • A demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission is required.

 

Additional Information:

This is a part-time instructional faculty position. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required.  AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
