This is a renewable position with a 4/4 load. The instructor would be expected to teach 3 courses per term in foundations studio art, including introductory classes such as drawing and 2-D design. The opportunity to teach upper-level studio art classes also exists depending on expertise and qualifications. In lieu of teaching a fourth class each term, the successful candidate will serve as director for the UIS Visual Arts Gallery. Duties for this role include overseeing all gallery activities and supervising the gallery manager, a part-time employee responsible for day-to-day gallery operations. Additionally, all UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned.
