Wilkes University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History, specializing in United States History (post-1877), to begin August 2022. The History program, housed within the Division of Global Cultures, prides itself on our commitment to undergraduate teaching as well as maintaining a rigorous research and scholarship profile.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a 4/4 teaching load including survey courses in Modern American and Modern World History as well as upper-level courses in their field of expertise. Applicants whose research and teaching explore themes of race and diversity in the United States as well as those who are able to contribute to our program's focus on Public and Digital History are particularly encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in History (in hand by August 2022) is required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in teaching undergraduate courses and advising undergraduate students. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
