Assistant Professor of Instructional Design & Technology School of Instructional Technology and Innovation


Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Instructional Design & Technology (IDT) faculty position in the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation (SITI) beginning August 2022. This position reports to the SITI Director; and will engage in teaching, research and service.


The Assistant Professor will teach courses face-to-face at undergraduate level in the newly developed Bachelor of Science in Instructional Design & Technology. This position may also teach graduate level courses in Instructional Technology. Additionally, the position will aid in the ongoing development of the program, including establishing internship partnerships, promoting the program, and refining program courses. Other duties related to teaching include advising students within graduate programs, guiding Ed.S. capstone projects, and serving on Ed.D. dissertation committees. The position may call for additional teaching within other SITI programs, as needed.


In addition to teaching, this faculty member will engage in scholarly activities and research commensurate with rank, graduate faculty status, and expectations of the school, college, and university.


The faculty member will serve on committees at the school, college, and university levels. They are also expected to engage in service to the profession and community.


Required Qualifications Include

  • Earned doctorate in Instructional Design or a closely related field, foreign equivalent, or possess equivalent training, ability and/or experience. ABDs close to completion will be Degree must be earned by August 1, 2022.
  • Evidence of the ability to teach instructional design and related concepts (e.g., multimedia production, online learning, human performance technology, etc.) to aspiring instructional designers for both the public and private
  • Experience in designing and/or delivering face-to-face, hybrid, and online
  • Evidence of the ability to conduct scholarly activity at the assistant professor
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an interdisciplinary
  • Commitment to working in an environment that fosters


Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Experience in instructional design within the public or private Preference given to candidates with business or industry experience.
  • Experience teaching in higher
  • Experience with instructional design and multimedia production
  • PMP, CPTD, CPT or other recognized professional accreditation related to the field of instructional
  • Experience working with P-12 schools related to technology for
