Assistant Professor in Environmental Science

Drew University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Science. Preference given to interdisciplinary scientists who study climate change, energy, food and/or water resources. We seek an enthusiastic scientist with an active research program that will involve undergraduate students and has the potential to engage with local communities. The successful candidate will help guide the future of Drew’s Environmental Science and Environmental Studies majors. 

Position starts August 2022, pending budgetary approval.

Position responsibilities will include: 

• Teach the core environmental science courses and elective courses (3-3 load) at the introductory and advanced undergraduate level.  Elective courses will be in the candidate’s area of expertise. 

• Engage in the discipline as an active scholar.

• Advise majors.

• Participate in department and college service.

Required Education and Experience:

• The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in environmental science or a closely related discipline by August 1, 2022.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Previous experience teaching environmental science courses to undergraduate students.

• Mentoring of undergraduate research students.
