RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that would include, but are not limited to Performance Analytics Research Practicum, Evidence Based Practice and Research Design, Movement Science Research Design, Movement Science Research Data Collection
  • Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
  • Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
  • Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.  Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
  • Assist with programmatic accreditation.
  • Design and manage short-term and ongoing research projects within WSU Athletics
  • Foster interdepartmental partnerships through collaborative research projects
  • Develop ties with regional healthcare and academic institutions to expand data bases and provide learning opportunities for students
  • Share outcomes with players, coaches, strength and conditioning specialists for performance enhancement and injury prevention or tracking
  • Disseminate findings through on-campus presentations, publications, and/or poster/conference podium presentations
  • Assist in the selection and testing of equipment from external groups
  • Development of revenue generating model centered on research and performance testing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • Earned doctorate or terminal degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or similar.
  • [Demonstrated success publishing academic works
  • Demonstrated success presenting at local and national conferences
  • Experience investigating sport performance and/or injury prevention

Preferred:

  • Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
  • [Preferred 5-years of experience developing and leading research projects
  • History of successfully acquiring grant funding for research and/or equipment
