We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The director of digital media is responsible for overseeing development and content execution of the college’s digital marketing platforms including the college’s websites, blogs, digital signage, e-communications, social media and related channels in support of the college’s marketing and communication strategies.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish the strategic direction of the college’s digital marketing initiatives and roadmap in support of the strategic objectives established by the college’s Board of Trustees and administrative leadership.
  • Identify and utilize all relevant digital media platforms as directed, including the website, targeted digital advertising platforms, social media, blogs, podcasts and other channels as determined.
  • Oversee the college’s public website and ensure its ease of use by the college’s stakeholders including the public, taxpayers, students, administration, elected officials and educational partners.
  • Stay up to date with stakeholder preferences and proactively suggest new initiatives; build strong client relationships through digital interaction.
  • Coordinate website content and presentation among various internal departments to ensure website’s status as an outstanding example of a higher education platform for Collin College branding and student usage; oversee staff assigned to website within the communications department.
  • Oversee the college’s social media accounts and staff assigned to them.
  • Propose annual budgets and relevant key performance metrics and produce regular status reports on the operations of this function.
  • Supervise staff responsible for video content creation and production in support of the communications department’s ongoing projects for both internal and external use.
  • Manage and improve online content; monitor competitive and peer institutions for best practices and make recommendations for continuous enhancement to digital platforms.
  • Ensure continued up-to-date digital technology practices as it relates to the college’s communications initiatives.
  • Exhibit the college’s core values in all respects as a leader within the institution.
  • Oversee assigned staff and establish a work environment marked by creativity, industry-leading practices, empowerment and high job satisfaction.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution required with an advanced degree preferred.
Four (4) years of experience in marketing, social media, website and graphic design. Two (2) years of project management experience.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
