The Systems Network Administrator is responsible for deploying the release of new technologies as well as the installation and configuration of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. Responsibilities include daily operations and maintenance of enterprise servers in a Windows 2008/2012 and Linux OS environment. The System Network Administrator will report to the Infrastructure and Network Manager as well as the Director of Academic and Campus Technologies, and will work closely with the team to resolve issues.

Essential Duties

The Systems Network Administrator will perform day-to-day tasks related to maintaining and operating a Microsoft Active Directory enterprise environment
  • Account life cycle: Creation, decommission and maintaining rights to network resources.
  • Creating and maintaining mailboxes in a Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment.
  • Security and Distribution group memberships
  • DNS record management
  • Adding and removing resources on Microsoft Print Servers
  • Monitor/troubleshoot EMC Networker backups
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose application issues on Microsoft client/Server applications
  • Escalate complex problems to senior level administrators
  • Additional duties as required
Special Requirements
  • WSUS patching, group policy and scripting.
  • Basic SQL Server administration
  • Clustering and Load balancing in an enterprise environment
  • SCCM operations​
  • JAMF Operations (Macintosh MDM)​
  • Strong communication skills (English) to communicate with operations support personnel, application development personnel and management
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills required to interpret client business needs, application development needs, and identify and document appropriate technical solutions and production processes and procedures. ​
  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, MCSA or Security related are an advantage.
  • Virtualization experience as well as strong networking fundamentals is an advantage.
Practical experience working with
  • VMware 6x and associated utilities, configure VM guests and hosts
  • Enterprise Antivirus solutions (Sophos Enterprise)
  • Technical products, vendors, and families of technologies and company hardware and software products. ​
  • Broad knowledge of HP products and services
  • Systems cost factor and cost estimate
  • Data center systems support including blade center​
  • KB article and Documentations
  • Azure cloud services​
  • Adobe sync services
  • HSC HER software: Eaglesoft and CGM​
  • Linux server administration
  • Tier 3 helpdesk
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in order to meet the requirements of the job.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer sciences or related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of practical, hands-on systems programming experience with VM technologies and Linux/UNIX systems.
  • Five years or more experience with Microsoft Windows server products
