Job Summary

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing reports to the Dean of the LeBow College of Business and is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for both the LeBow College of Business and Goodwin College of Professional Studies.

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing collaborates with colleagues across LeBow and Goodwin to elevate the brands, promote the expertise and accomplishments of the college communities and further the strategic, fundraising and recruitment priorities of the colleges. The individual in this role will manage the College's communications and marketing budgets and is expected to stay abreast of industry and marketing trends, develop strategic plans for measuring results and use relevant metrics to drive the performance of the communications and marketing teams.

The successful candidate will be an expert writer and editor, and a strong leader and team builder with a proven track record of developing and managing successful teams and strategic communications and marketing efforts. Strong time management skills, intellectual curiosity, sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, creative and innovative thinking, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential to this position.

Essential Functions

• Agile communicator, highly skilled writer/editor and motivated, creative leader.
• Experience writing for executive-level leaders and managing communications through crises.
• Proven ability to think critically and creatively to provide strategic guidance on communications and marketing for a range of initiatives and fields.
• Highly organized and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Highly collaborative with experience managing relationships within complex environments.
• Proven aptitude for using data and metrics in decision-making.
• Evidence of creativity and innovation in previous related appointments is required.
• Experience as a supervisor is required.
• Experience in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
• Expertise in brand strategy and experience with paid advertising campaigns.
• Experience overseeing website management, including content development and design. Experience in producing publications, annual reports, brochures, etc.
• Experience with social media strategy and management.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelors Degree in Marketing, communications or another directly related field is required.
  • 10+ years of communications and marketing experience, including at least 5 years in a management level role.
  • Other requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in higher education, including developing and executing communication plans with clear, measurable objectives.
Location
  • University City.
