The Center for Social and Biomedical Complexity (https://csbc.luddy.indiana.edu/) at Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position on modeling health risks from large-scale online data. The appointments start in Spring 2022.
The postdocs will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team that
includes systems scientists, biologists, cognitive scientists,
computer scientists, and social scientists. The postdocs will work
with Prof. Johan Bollen (https://informatics.indiana.edu/jbollen/),
conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of
complex networks and systems, data science, computational social
science, cognitive science, and health. We specifically encourage
candidates to apply who are interested in the application of
network science, machine learning, NLP, and systems science methods
to model individual health risk trajectories.
Minimum Qualifications:
A PhD is required in Complex Systems, Network Science, Computer
Science or Computational Science, Cognitive Science, Applied
Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or related field;
a strong background in analysis and modeling of complex systems and
networks; and solid programming skills which are necessary to
handle big data and develop large-scale simulations. ABD (all but
dissertation) candidates may apply but will need the Ph.D. prior to
start.

Appointment Type: Twelve-month full-time non-tenure track
appointment with potential to be extended annually, subject to
satisfactory performance and funding. Position is currently funded
for two years.
