Job Description:

The School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management at Roger Williams University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Computer Science. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in innovative, collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching and research. The successful candidate is expected to teach (including developing course and lesson outcomes, lesson plans, and syllabi) undergraduate courses, including, but not limited to introduction to computer science, data structures, programming languages, computer organization, compilers, operating systems, and upper-level electives, particularly those focused on data science and/or interdisciplinary in nature. The successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research program; advise students to help them attain academic and professional success; work with student organizations and mentor student competition teams and projects; collaborate with related disciplines, industry partners, and communities; participate fully in the assessment of student learning outcomes to maintain ABET accreditation; and participate in service activities in support of the University, School, and Program. This position will have a preferred start date in Fall 2022.

This is a 9 month position.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or closely related field is required.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Preference will be given to those specializing in areas related to data science or with an interdisciplinary focus.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
