Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness will provide strategic oversight, creative support, and supervision to the department's efforts toward encouraging wholistic wellbeing. This position is designed to promote the benefits of living well, and to provide programming designed to enable the campus community to pursue wellness. This is done successfully by demonstrating the department's values thru inclusive and engaging recreational opportunities that are targeted toward students primarily and the campus/public secondarily.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Public Health, or related field is required.
- Masters Preferred
Minimum Experience:
- Two years of related work experience is required. Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
Minimum Licensure and Certification:
- Appropriate Group Exercise and Personal Training certification from at least one of the following is required: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, CSCS
- CPR, FA, AED Certification, (Instructor Preferred)
Qualification Equivalencies:
Desired Qualifications:
- Additional fitness certifications from any of the following accreditations: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, CSCS
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification
- Experience with Innosoft Fusion is preferred.
Job Functions:
Oversee the design, implementation, management, evaluation, delivery, and expansion of assigned Campus recreations programs including: group fitness programming, personal training services, and the health promotion and education program.
Oversee the onboarding, supervision, and development of part-time and student employees.
Coordinate the consistent processing of participant functions including member enrollment procedures, registration processes, assessment development, and metrics, and financial tracking.
Plan, budget, and evaluate the operation and maintenance of the group and individual exercise equipment inventory, and health education/promotional materials.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
