Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Fisher Center Discovery Program (FCDP) Management Responsibilities:-
Manage all aspects of the FCDP, a JHU internal grants program
related to the study of environmental infectious
diseases.
Update FCDP processes and documents as needed; maintain an
electronic database (MS Access) and paper files.
Coordinate all aspects of the FCDP, including RFA distribution,
proposal evaluation, report preparation, distribution of funds, and
post-award activities.
Monitor financial accounting in conjunction with financial
staff.
Content writer and editor for theFisher Focusnewsletter
(twice per year), distributed to donors and persons interested in
the mission of the Fisher Center.
Assist with Fisher Center website content
maintenance.

Manage all aspects of research project planning, implementation,
daily administration, and closeout of multiple research studies
related to environmental infectious diseases.
Create new protocols, consents, case report forms, operating
procedures, budgets, timelines, IRB applications, recruitment
materials, and other research-related documents.
Create and maintain multiple IRB accounts and investigator
notebooks, report adverse events, comply with all regulatory and
reporting requirements and adherence to GCP.
Develop new budgets, monitor study financial expenditures, and
manage research participant remuneration. Work with Budget Analysts
to create financial reports.
Liaison with the Principal Investigator, co-investigators, IRB
staff, study monitors, study sponsors, research participants, and
other stakeholders related to specific research
projects.
May need to interact with research study participants. Perform
screening, administer questionnaires, perform phlebotomy (if part
of skill set), enter data into CRMS, enter data into
sponsor-related databases, schedule study visits, and coordinate
activities with study sponsors.
Assist the PI with scientific writing and developing posters,
journal articles, presentations and reports.
Schedule speakers and manage online connectivity for theID
Clinical and Research Topicsmeeting held twice per
month.
Using EndNote, maintain an electronic library of publications
generated by Fisher Center-related researchers.
Coordinate services with JHU community service providers (CCDA,
Brand Management, etc.).

Responsible for administrative, operational, functional, and
security components related to Fisher Center electronic research
databases such as using MS Access or REDCap.
Oversee the compilation and transmission of data from various Johns
Hopkins (Epic, CCDA, etc.) and external database systems to
research databases.
Oversee all QI initiatives on the data.
Advise and assist investigators in conceptualizing data collection
needs and translating these needs into collected
data.
Perform limited data analysis (counts, mean, median, p-value).
Coordinate with biostatistical consultants for more extensive data
analysis.
Direct hiring and/or oversight of other personnel as determined by
investigators and funding sources, including additional junior data
managers/programmers, manual data abstractors, and students in
specific projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning logically associated duties to the position.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years related experience, including significant
experience in managing research projects.
Additional education may substitute for required experience to the
extent permitted by the JHU equivalency
formula.*
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with clinical research sciences and regulatory affairs is required.
- Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize management of multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated budget management experience.
- Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and PowerPoint. MS Access and REDCap proficiency preferred or willing to be trained.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse partners.
- Highly organized and systematic in work, with good attention to detail.
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team.
