Position Details
Position Description
• This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.
• Teaching three undergraduate courses in interior design per
semester (.75 FTE) including studio and seminar-format, and
industry-specific digital media. Teaching assignments will be based
on the applicant’s experience and expertise.
• Assuming administrative oversight of the Department’s common
Foundation Program (.10 FTE).
• Advising undergraduate majors (.10 FTE).
• Service to the Department, College and University, normally
involving committee work (.05 FTE).
• Continued Professional Development.
Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or
a closely-related professional field.
• 18 completed graduate-level credit hours toward an Interior
Design or closely-related graduate degree, or seven years of
related professional practice.
• Evidence of strength in design practice and teaching.
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and
inclusion.
Strongly Preferred:
• Graduate degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a closely
related professional field, or international equivalent. The MFA is
generally considered the terminal degree in Interior Design.
• The BFA in Interior Design, Architecture or a closely related
professional field, or international equivalent.
• Proficiency in using and teaching AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe
Creative Suite and similar software.
• Unsupervised, college-level teaching experience.
• In addition to academic credentials, five years professional
practice in Interior Design, Architecture or a closely-related
professional field.
Rank and Salary
Instructor, non tenure-track. This is a permanent position with a
renewable contract. The contract period is initially one year, can
be extended to three years following the first year of service.
Salary and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Benefits for domestic partners are

Department Details
Department of Design
The widely-recognized and respected Department of Design offers the
BFA in Interior Design, The BFA in Graphic Design, the BS in Design
Studies, and a minor in Architectural Lighting Design. There are
approximately 200 undergraduate majors in the department. Upon
filling this position, the program will have 12, permanent faculty
positions with generous adjunct support from the vibrant Fort
Worth/Dallas design and advertising community. We celebrate

The Interior Design Program is accredited by the Council for
Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). The Department of Design is
accredited by the National Association of Schools of Schools of Art
and Design (NASAD).

School/College Description
The TCU College of Fine Arts is home to six units: the School of
Art, the School for Classical & Contemporary Dance, the School
of Music, the Department of Design, the Department of Fashion
Merchandising, and the Department of Theatre. The college offers 33
undergraduate degree programs and 24 advanced degree programs to
help prepare the next generation of creative leaders in the arts.
Approximately 850 undergraduate students and 120 graduate and
professional program students pursue their passions in the TCU
College of Fine Arts. These talented students study under renowned
professors and guest artists, annually present more than 350 public
performances and presentations, and display art and design work in
juried exhibitions and competitions, among other creative
activities. The college also offers a minor in Arts Leadership
& Entrepreneurship and oversees two on-campus art
galleries.
