Furthermore, the candidate will support and mentor faculty to secure external funding, promote a collegial and collaborative environment, and facilitate meaningful growth to fill the healthcare needs of the community.

UCF seeks candidates who have a strong record of research and external financial support, teaching, experience with operating a clinical/training facility, and proven visionary leadership. Administrative and leadership experience should include sound fiscal management, strong interest and proficiency in faculty development and mentoring, demonstrated experience in curriculum development and implementation, and proficiency with educational technology. Candidates should possess the ability to effectively express and implement the shared vision of the School and University. They should demonstrate the ability to establish collaborative working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as with individuals from our local and regional communities.

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • A research doctoral degree in communication sciences and disorders or related discipline from an accredited institution;
  • An outstanding record of teaching, research, and scholarly achievements commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of full professor; and
  • A demonstration of significant and successful administrative leadership and mentoring experience in a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A proven leader with the ability to oversee diverse academic and clinical programs;
  • Experience overseeing complex budgets and accreditation processes;
  • Demonstrated history of externally funded research and scholarly achievement;
  • Experience with interdisciplinary initiatives and clinical programming;
  • Evidence of a commitment to fostering diversity; and
  • Possess the ability to support future growth and expansion of the school.

The selected candidate should also have the necessary academic experience to be a committed and effective leader and mentor to the faculty and staff within the school’s current and future programs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with university administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as create partnerships both within and outside the college and university.
