Position Purpose
The English Language Institute ( ELI ) at UCM is accepting applications by qualified individuals to enter an adjunct ELI pool (part-time instructor) to teach face-to-face classes at the Warrensburg campus and/or Lee’s Summit Missouri Innovation Campus. It is possible, but not guaranteed, that an adjunct instructor(s) may teach 1-2 ESL classes in Reading, Writing, Communication, Grammar, Seminar in American Culture, Tutorial. Required for office Hours each week, 1.25 weekly per course.

Other Education & Formal Training
Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, Master’s in Education with ESL Emphasis, Master’s in English, Master’s in Communication, or related field.
TESL students may apply.

Experience
ESL teaching experience preferred
Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality

Understanding intercultural communication, knowledge of Intensive English Programs preferred.
