Job Description Summary

Position: The Department of Management in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track, non-tenure eligible full-time teaching faculty position in Management. The contract is renewed annually based on need, funding, and performance. The position can be filled as a lecturer / senior lecturer / professor of practice depending on the background and experience of the candidate. This nine-month position is designed to support the Management degree program of Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business beginning in Fall 2022.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the successful candidate for the position is to teach a selection of undergraduate management courses required of students in the management degree program and assist in the professional development of management students. The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to management program courses. An ability to teach a variety of management courses is a requirement. (Course topics such as organizational behavior, human resource management, managing organizational change, and principles of management are currently our greatest areas of need.) Under typical circumstances, the teaching load for the position will be equivalent to four three-credit hour courses a semester, which includes course development and course management activities. In addition to instructional duties, successful candidates will be expected to mentor students through the job search and hiring experience and into possible participation in student organizations, as well as other mentoring and knowledge enhancement opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Qualifications: As this is a teaching intensive position, candidates should have instructional experience and a record of high-quality teaching. Successful candidates will be required to possess a master’s degree or higher in business or an appropriate related discipline area at the time employment begins. Practical and extensive management experience is considered highly desirable. Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment. Excellent communication skills are required.
