The University Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating between the Academic & Enterprise Systems development team, and business offices to manage improvements to system functionality within the Student Information Systems, CRMs, Document Management Systems, Student Success Platforms, etc. The Analyst is expected to acquire in-depth knowledge of the processes across the university. 

This individual will be responsible for preparing specifications around implementations of business solutions and partnering closely with developers on new system functionality and/or modifications to existing functionality. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for supporting/managing multiple development projects through extensive testing of new functionality, preparing functional and end-user documentation, facilitating training, and communicating clearly on the progression of each project. 

  • The University Business Analysts must be comfortable working across business areas such as admissions, financial aid, records, finances, student affairs, health services, human resources, etc. In partnership with these operational areas, the business analyst will work to identify and propose improvements to processes and systems to improve the quality of services offered to students, faculty, and staff. The expertise of this individual will serve as a resource to all entities across the university. The Analyst will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of all business processes related to academic systems and be able to identify opportunities for improvement. The individual will also be expected to manage the process of implementing improvements from initial specifications, collaboration with IS&T and other third-party vendors, development, and execution of project plans, communication, testing, and training. (50%)
  • The Business Analyst is expected to obtain and maintain a high level of functional expertise in the systems utilized across the university. And to have the ability to identify opportunities for technical improvements in partnership with developers in Academic & Enterprise Systems. (30%)
  • As a university-wide lead Business Analyst, this individual is responsible for coordinating projects on behalf of the university, managing project priorities under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst, and providing project updates. (20%)
