Mutiple full-time faculty positions in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science and Data Science

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Division of Science and Engineering at Penn State University Abington College seeks three (3) tenure-line Assistant Professors, each in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science and Data Sciences.All positions are nine-month appointments, starting August 2022, and come with excellent fringe benefits that include retirement plans, health, dental, vision, and prescription drug insurance, reduced tuition rates for dependents, and optional long-term disability insurance.The review process will begin November 1, 2021 and continue until the positions are filled.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline by July 1, 2022.A successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Teach nine (9) contact hours per semester
  • Advise a variety of majors related to their discipline
  • Develop a robust research program that involves undergraduate students and can lead to external grant funding
  • Provide service to the Division and College

    Below are additional required qualifications by discipline.For all positions, candidates will be expected to teach courses across programs to students from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.

    Information Technology: Candidates should have at least 24 months of a) experience teaching in three or more of the following subjects: organizational strategies and enterprise architecture, business processes and technology decisions, organizational design, information processing and information flow, cyber analytics, cyber defense, cyber forensics, security risk analysis, databases, networking, programming, web management, and project management; or b) industry experience.

    Cybersecurity: Candidates should have a) professional cybersecurity certification such as CISM, CISSP, or CISA; or b) at least 24 months of teaching experience in one or more of the following courses: cyber-defense studio, cybersecurity analytics studio, malware analytics, cyber incident handling and response, security and risk analysis, decision theory and analysis, statistics for security and risk analysis and integration of privacy and security.

    Computer Science: Candidates should have at least 24 months experience teaching in three or more of the following subjects: principles of programming languages, formal languages with applications, computer organization and architecture, communications networks, computer graphics, applications programming, and object-oriented programming with web-based applications.

    Data Science: Candidates should have at least 24 months experience teaching in three or more of the following subjects: data privacy and security, machine learning, visual analytics, data integration, applied data sciences, probability and statistics, programming for big data, artificial intelligence, and database modeling.
