Suffolk
University is pleased to announce a career opportunity as a
part-time Medical Assistant!
In an effort to
interrupt the viral transmission of COVID-19 among our asymptomatic
and pre-symptomatic population, every member of Suffolk
University's student and employee community that comes to campus at
least once weekly participates in our surveillance testing
plan.Suffolk University has partnered with the Broad Institute to
offer PCR testing in the form of self-administered anterior nares
swabs.500-800 tests are conducted daily.
Description:
Conscientious and excellence-driven individuals needed to staff Suffolk University's COVID-19 test site through the end of Spring 22 Semester.
High School graduate or equivalent required. Experience in COVID-19 testing site or clinic preferred.
Preferred qualifications: completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, an intermediate EMT or Paramedic program, or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Note: Two medical assistants are needed on-site at all times. One of the two must-have the above-mentioned preferred medical credentials.
Description:

Teaches
individuals to performand observes individualsconductingCOVID-19
self-swab tests.
Exemplifies
caring and compassionate customer service and excellent
interpersonal skills to create a positive patient experience.
Utilizes
standard precautions and complies with Suffolk University policies
and procedures.
Prepares
specimens for pick-up at the end of each day.
Ensures tests
are properly ordered, manifests are properly generated, and any
issues are addressed by the end of each shift.
Monitors
inventory at the test site and restocks as needed.
