The Campus Minister, at Notre Dame of Maryland University, an institution founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in the Roman Catholic tradition, fosters the spiritual life of the campus by attending to the religious, sacramental, personal, and social development of the faith community. Catholic in its truest sense, Notre Dames Campus Ministry reaches out to and welcomes peoples of all faiths, celebrating the richness that religious diversity brings.

Essential functions will include:

  1. Works with NDMU students and community members to create culturally responsive community-centered prayer and Masses.
  2. Performs as a musician, or coordinates the scheduling of musicians, for Sunday Masses and special occasions.
  3. Selects and prepares appropriate music for Sunday Masses and special occasions, as well as prayers, readings and liturgical elements as appropriate.
  4. Creates worship aids for special masses and prayer services.
  5. Coordinates with Director of Mission and Campus Ministry and Chaplain to attend to the pastoral needs of the NDMU community.


Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Bachelors degree required. Preferred: Masters Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry or other related field.
  • Experience: Five years experience in youth/young adult ministry, music ministry, campus ministry or comparable experience.
  • Skills/Aptitude: Working knowledge of young adult personal/spiritual development and liturgical planning. Liturgical musical ability. Commitment to the mission of School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) and College of Notre Dame is required. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, self-motivated, creative, problem-solver, collaborative team member, and Microsoft Office computer skills. Preferred: Conversational Spanish.
  • Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Ability to work regularly on Sundays.
