Job Description:

WKU seeks a full-time tenure-eligible, faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for the Educational Administration program housed in the School of Leadership and Professional Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in the program, conduct and publish research in the discipline, work with and advise students, support student success initiatives, and present at professional conferences in areas that support the program mission, vision and values as well as recruitment and retention efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to support the School's priority of advancing student success through service and teaching university learning course sections.  The educational administration program area develops students for careers in P12 administration, with the flagship program in principal preparation.  Other areas of certification include supervisor of instruction, director of pupil personnel services, director of special education, and the superintency.

Courses are taught through a variety of modalities including fully online, hybrid, face-to-face, and on-demand.  All faculty are required to maintain an on-campus presence via office hours and participation on department, college and university committees as assigned.

 

 


Requirements:

  • A PhD from a regionally accredited university in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a related discipline with substantial coursework (18+ hours) in field.  
  • Demonstrated substantial teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to conduct and publish peer-reviewed research in the discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with curriculum assessment, development and design.
  • Demonstrated experience in P12 public school leadership.
