Program Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor
Location: Clemson University
The Program Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor for the Masters & Educational Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership encourages innovations in program development, quality assessment, and accreditation; recruits new students while maintaining good relationships with current students and alumni; ensures student and faculty development, especially among partner school districts and part-time visiting faculty; schedules the timely delivery of courses, assures on-time graduation and student success; and teaches in both programs. The MEdS in EDL Program Coordinator also serves on the department's advisory committee with other EOLD program coordinators and representatives of faculty and students.
DUTIES
Program Coordinator duties related to developing and maintaining high quality Educational Leadership (EdL) programs
- Foster a culture that links teaching, research, and public service aligned with the mission of Clemson University and the College of Education
- Create opportunities and maintain external partnerships that enhance the research-to-practice-based MEdS in EDL degree and certification programs
- Collaborate with College and department leaders, state agencies, school districts, and school leaders to assess needs and develop proposals for program improvement and innovation that meet accreditation and degree standards
- Collaborate with the EOLD Department Chair, faculty, and school district partners to monitor student perceptions of program quality
- Advise MEdS in EdL students of program requirements, expectations, and milestones for graduation
- Collaborate with the director of accreditation and assessment and provide support for regional and national accreditation
- Collaborate with the Clemson Graduate School regarding program requirements, handbooks, and other program-based materials or policies regarding program and student requirements
- Recruit a diverse group of students for the MEdS in EDL programs that meets Clemson's land-grant mission and increases enrollment across the region, nation, and world.
- Oversee and provide support for periodic program reviews required by the university and/or regulatory agencies
- Promote the effective use of technology to facilitate learning in all settings (classroom, distance education, and multiple instructional platforms)
- Provide program-level enrollment management, strategic planning, and curriculum enhancement
- Deliver sequenced curriculum through the scheduling of fall, spring, and summer terms, including the recruitment and training of part-time practice-based faculty
Assistant Clinical Professor duties related to Teaching/Advising, Service, and Research
- Provide high quality instruction across multiple degree and certification programs in EDL
- Uses multiple measures to set goals and document self-directed development in the areas of teaching/advising, service, and the generation of evidence-based research on leadership practices
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the department chair
QUALIFICATIONS
- A doctorate in Educational Leadership or equivalent program
- Experience in graduate-level instruction, advising, and programming
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience in teaching, including curriculum development, innovative teaching methods, instructional design, and delivery for various settings (e.g., on-line including the use of multiple delivery modalities), and assessment
- Experience in educational administration at or above the level of program director and preferably at a system level
- Demonstrated communication skills including evidence of cultivating and maintaining partnerships
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with faculty and staff in academic and professional environments
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive professional environment
