Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology seeks a tenure track
assistant professor of Economics with an anticipated start date of
August 2022. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics by start of
employment and demonstrated potential for excellence in
undergraduate teaching. Essential job responsibilities include
undergraduate teaching, ongoing professional development, and
service to the department, Institute, and professional
community.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach microeconomics
and macroeconomics at the introductory level, undergraduate
econometrics, and elective courses in applied microeconomics fields
or other areas of interest. These courses will contribute to the
department’s Economics minor. We are seeking candidates who embrace
Rose-Hulman's mission of educating undergraduate students. The
department and the Institute place a high value on engaging
students from traditionally underrepresented groups, and candidates
from these groups are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates
who can broaden and enhance the educational experience of our
students are also encouraged to apply.
Rose-Hulman is a selective, private college located in Terre Haute,
Indiana, in a suburban/residential setting. The Institute
emphasizes a liberal education in engineering, science, and
mathematics. Rose-Hulman is consistently ranked among the best
colleges of science and engineering in the nation by a variety of
publications and surveys and was recently ranked number one for the
twenty third consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report among
engineering schools that do not offer a Ph.D. program.
