Description:
Are you looking to harness and expand your talent acquisition skills in a world-renowned Art, Design, Architecture and Information higher education institution? The Department of Human Resources is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to join our dynamic team and vibrant campus community. The successful candidate for this newly created position will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing effective faculty and staff recruitment strategies in support of the Institute's efforts to create a culture of excellence and inclusion. The Talent Acquisitions Manager manages the full life-cycle faculty and staff recruitment process and will be involved with sourcing and building applicant pools, researching and tapping new applicant sources and recruitment strategies, branding Pratt as an employer of choice, and maintaining and analyzing data on the effectiveness of recruitment venues.

On a typical day you will:
  • Coach hiring managers and search committees on best practices, inclusive applicant screening, and techniques to combat implicit bias in hiring
  • Research new applicant sources including listservs, digital and print media, online job boards and social media sites; develop contacts with professional and trade organizations, schools and training programs and attend job fairs and conferences in an effort to expand and diversify applicant pools
  • Collaborate with HR staff and other Pratt departments on diversity initiatives
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment sources and methods in generating diverse applicant pools using data analytic techniques

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field is required (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree); Master’s degree and/or SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

Experience: Five years of human resources management experience with a focus on the full life-cycle recruitment process. Experience in a higher education/non-profit setting strongly preferred; experience in a union environment a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Sound knowledge of relevant labor and employment law and diversity, equity and inclusion principles.
  • Experience with HR databases and Applicant Tracking systems as well as online sourcing and research tools.
