IT@JH Administration and Finance is seeking a HR Coordinator. This position is responsible for human resources activities within the Department with a mix of over 1,000 full-time/part-time JHU and JHHS staff, as well as temporary, casual, and student employees. The position’s primary responsibility is to provide accurate, timely, and routine customer focused human resources support to the department while ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and laws. General duties include payroll management, human resources management, talent acquisition support, and time/attendance management.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Point of contact for JHU and JHHS employees
  • In SAP, initiates hires, salary changes, supplements (on-call, overtime, subsidy, relocation expenses, bonus, etc.), short-term disability, leaves of absence, terminations, etc.
  • Assists Financial team with e-form processing and salary updates
  • Submits JHU student and casual employee hours in CAT2 when needed
  • Submits Off-Cycle check requests when needed
  • Submits parking payroll deduction requests
  • Assists with processing Payroll bi-weekly in Kronos

Human Resources Management:

  • Assists with staff and student new hire and termination processing
  • Manages extension and expiration of Ad hoc consultant JHED accounts
  • Assists with maintaining active position openings on internal career website
  • Provisions JHED and exchange accounts for employees and consultants
  • Maintains and manages personnel files for all employees
  • Assists Sr. HR Coordinator in welcome calls to new employees
  • Runs master data reports in SAP BW Analysis for clean-up and maintenance

Talent Acquisition Support:

  • Obtains and posts documentation for new requisition postings in SuccessFactors
  • Provides administrative support to the department’s career recruiter
  • Assists JHHS Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist with salary spreadsheets for current and new employees

Time & Attendance Management:

  • Helps with questions in Kronos and processes Historical Edits
  • Manages e210 reporting and coding for employees
  • Runs weekly overtime and non-exempt staff compliance reports in e210
  • Answers employee’s questions regarding e210
  • Sends FML paperwork to staff and coordinates transmission and follow up to the FML paperwork with the HR Business Services department
  • Performs other duties as required

Other Duties:

  • This position exercises independent judgment in resolving human resources and payroll issues.
  • Communicates internally with departmental leadership, staff, and students.
  • Establishes and maintains good communication with the EPIC project’s leadership, technical, and administrative staff.
  • Manages human resources and payroll activities for the life cycle of employment. Liaison between the department and central offices of Human Resources and Payroll Shared Services.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years related experience required.
  • Additional related education can substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula.*

* JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.  For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

  • SAP and SuccessFactors experience preferred.

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
