Position Summary:

The Educational Assistant, Copy Center performs a full range of operations and administrative tasks in the Copy Center and assists with the maintenance and support of the campus copier fleet. Examples of duties include operation of mechanical duplicating and finishing equipment, making minor repairs, identifying duplicating problems, understanding and effectively carrying out oral and written instructions, and utilizing computer software.

Incumbents must possess a proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in an appropriately related field, 2 (two) years of experience.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
  • Ability to operate various automated and/or mechanical duplicating and finishing equipment.
  • Ability to make minor repairs.
  • Ability to identify duplicating problems
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Supervisory ability.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) or more years working experience in a copy center environment
  • Experience with Canon varioPRINT and Uniflow
  • Experience with binding, booklets, and lamination
  • Some experience with editing and Office applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of IT or another administrator, the Copy Center Educational Assistant may supervise students’ workers and effective performance in these essential functional areas:
  • Manage the Copy Center.
  • Oversees daily maintenance of equipment.
  • Operate automated and/or mechanical duplicating and finishing equipment.
  • Convert hardcopy documents to electronic files.
  • Maintain, support, and repair equipment as needed.

Salary:
$27.76 hourly.
