Provost & VP Academic Affairs: The Web Content Specialist is a strategic partner contributing to marketing and communication strategies in support of the Graduate School’s goals and objectives to generate increased visibility, awareness, and enrollment. The Web Content Specialist works to ensure web content is timely, accurate, and optimized for search engines. The Web Content Specialist is a self-starter with a high level of initiative and a proven proactive thinker who works in coordination with other communications leads across the University and Graduate School and reports to the Director of Strategic Digital Marketing and Communication in Academic Affairs. This is a hybrid position with 2 days per week remote approved.

 Duties include and are not limited to:

 Oversee the creation and structure of new and existing graduate program pages and marketing campaign landing pages

  • Refine marketing content to respond to educational and marketplace trends, user-defined needs, best practices, departmental and university goals and objectives
  • Stay abreast of current usability, accessibility, web and content development, Google Analytics, and SEO best practices.
  • Identify and recommend ways to integrate emerging technologies and best practices into current websites and digital communications.
  • Provide high-quality and timely content, design, and implementation for public-facing websites.
  • Use “Best Practice” methods as defined by University policies and industry standards.
  • Oversee the long-term planning and vision of the Graduate School and graduate program websites, making sure those resources align with the enrollment, marketing, and branding strategies set forth by the University.
  • Work closely with content contributors to understand their content and campaign needs and craft strategies that support those objectives.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to translate overall web strategy into sub-strategies, develop requirements, tactical plans, review and testing parameters, and timelines. When needed, work with stakeholders regarding new tactics and website improvements.
  • Assist with the analysis of data from website, SEO, and digital marketing campaigns and develop recommendations to optimize web performance and design. Manage Google Analytics for site effectiveness and tracking of paid advertising conversions on websites.
  • Optimize web content to provide usability for prospective students.

Required: Bachelor's degree in new media, marketing, or closely related field, or comparable experience, 2+ years of work experience, experience working with Content Management Systems (Miami University uses Cascade).

 Consideration may be given to candidates with experience working in an academic environment; understanding of HTML and CSS; experience with Adobe Creative suite and Google Analytics; email marketing experience; strong working knowledge of the internet and web publishing; excellent writing, editing and communication skills, strong computer skills and a working knowledge of web design; strong collaboration and project management skills; ability to learn new things and keep up with the pace of changes in technology; highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail; a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural; competence in an educational and work environment; must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and possess excellent; project management skills with the ability to collaborate in a dynamically changing environment.
