Scope of Job:
We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's diverse student body as a lecturer beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year.

The selected applicant will teach multiple sections of laboratory, lecture and/or clinical practicum courses.
Selected applicant will also serve on departmental committees, maintain appropriate office hours and fulfill all other responsibilities required of a faculty member at UTRGV

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a master’s degree from an accredited university and appropriate nationally recognized ASCP certification as a medical laboratory scientist or medical technologist. Good communication skills and the ability to teach laboratory and lecture courses is required.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least 3 years of clinical and/or teaching experience which enables them to teach clinical microbiology or clinical chemistry and at least one other major area of the curriculum.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
