The School of Social Sciences and Human Interaction at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, invites applications for a tenure-track full-time position at the assistant professor level to begin in Fall 2022. 

We seek a teacher-scholar with expertise in gender and communication, broadly speaking, who also possesses the ability to contribute generally to our curriculum. 

The successful candidate(s) will be able to teach and develop courses in desired areas of expertise, as well as contribute generally to our core curriculum, which would include teaching Presentational (Public) Speaking each semester along with a rotation of other Communication courses. In addition to having strong teaching skills and an active scholarly agenda, the successful candidate(s) will be a visible and engaged faculty member(s) in our school, the college, the university, and the community. Experience or demonstrable interest in working closely with students in research and advising is also desired.

Principle Responsibilities: Teach courses in Communication Studies, advise undergraduate students, provide service, and maintain an active research agenda.

Required Skills: We seek candidates that show excellence and enthusiasm in teaching a variety of Communication courses. Candidates should also have strong potential to conduct independent research, including plans for close mentoring of undergraduate student collaborators. Service to the program, school, college, and university is expected.

Minimum Qualifications: ABD in Communication or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Communication or related field, the ability to teach gender-related courses specifically, and teaching experience more generally.
