Job Summary
The Cloud Systems Engineer handles the day-today operation of the cloud and Windows based services, specifically Exchange Online/Microsoft Exchange, Azure and Office365 for Drexel University. This includes integration with on premise systems such as Active Directory. He or she works as part of the Core Technology Infrastructure (CTI) team to deliver reliable, secure, and advanced functionality to all Mail and cloud services. Elements of the systems also include threat protection, data loss prevention, spam filtering, unified messaging, and log analysis. and He or she helps to evaluate and improve the maintenance procedures, monitoring, and performs capacity planning. This position involves deploying and evaluating for updates, new releases, applications and services. Continuing education in new technologies is expected and supported. Manage central and cloud log analysis systems to identify and to resolve service and security incidents. Reports to Director of Systems.
Essential Functions
- Resolves escalated application and system support issues
- Handles service delivery automation and makes recommendations for implementation
- Analyzes and troubleshoots systems performance, security and reliability
- Handles backup and disaster recovery planning, testing, implementation and compliance
- Improves IT systems efficiency with automation
- An Associates Degree or a Two Year College equivalent is required.
- Three to five years of directly related experience is required.
