Job Summary:

The Vision Research Core functions to assist research efforts of vision researchers across the campus by providing equipment access, technical guidance, and providing various research services. The core has 3 modules, Gene therapy and Quantitative Molecular Biology, Pathology and Imaging, and Animal Models. The person will primarily serve as the manager and operator of equipment in the Vision Research Core including learning how to operate the equipment, operate the equipment for other researchers, help researchers trouble shoot, maintain the equipment, keep user logs, and train other researchers to use the equipment. This position will also support other activities and equipment of the Vision Research Core as needed.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree in biology, microbiology, genetics, or biochemistry required.

Qualifications:

- At least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience required
- Microscopy experience strongly preferred
