Job Summary:

The GME Program Manager works within the Office of Education at the UW Department of Anesthesiology and manages the administration and daily operations of the Anesthesiology residency. The GME Program Manager performs work independently with assignments under direct supervision from the GME Program Administrator, Department Administrator, or their designee, and in consultation and regular collaboration with the Program Director and the Sponsoring Institution's DIO and Director of Graduate Medical Education.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree is preferred in an area of education, health care administration, or related field.
- Applicants who have earned a bachelor degree, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Graduate Medical Education is preferred. TAGME certification is preferred.
- Applicants who have not earned a bachelor degree, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Graduate Medical Education is required. TAGME certification is preferred.
- Experience in educational administration and/or office management in an academic health care setting is preferred.
- Previous experience working within the University of Wisconsin system and/or Graduate Medical Education (GME) as well as familiarity with the accrediting bodies is preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, independent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and an outgoing and energetic service-oriented approach required.
- Candidates should have a strong commitment to medical education.
- The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with professional learners and build relationships with institutional and national leaders, educators, and staff in GME.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated creative problem-solving skills, ability to manage and lead multiple simultaneous projects, and flexibility in communication practices.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated exceptional professional behavior, strong independent time-management ability, and high attention to detail.
