Managing Assistant Director III

Under the direction of an Associate Director of Financial Aid, with work also assigned by the Director of Financial Aid, the Managing Assistant Director manages one or more major financial aid programs which may include, but not be limited to: Federal Work Study, NJ STARS II and EOF; assists in institutional financial aid compliance; participates in the development of office goals, policies and procedures; manages a team of financial aid professionals; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

The Managing Assistant Director is a key member of the enrollment services team who works in collaboration with other managers within the division to provide essential student support services and customer service excellence to prospective and current Kean University students, families and alumni at the University One Stop and via in-person/remote appointments.

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in a financial aid, student accounting or enrollment services area in higher education is required. It is preferred that at least one year of this professional experience be at a supervisory/administrative level. A Master’s degree in a related field and working knowledge of integrated student information systems, including Colleague is also preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
