Job Summary/Basic Function

Millersville University of Pennsylvania is recruiting for a full-time registered nurse in the department of Health Services.

This position will assess human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals eligible to receive services at Millersville University Health Services. The University Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing services. Work efforts are primarily directed toward the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of the physical, psychosocial, behavioral, or mental health; providing nursing diagnosis and treatment; and developing and implementing a nursing care and treatment plan for each student/client. There is a strong focus on student development and use of CAS Standards within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management ( SAEM ), which this department is an integral unit. Health Services at Millersville University as a unit is actively involved in the American College Health Association ( ACHA ).

Annual Salary : Starting at $55,374.00, plus comprehensive benefits, including:
  • Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium, with coverage starting on the first day of employment for employee and all dependents.
  • Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
  • Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
  • Group life insurance – equal to annual salary (up to $40,000) at no cost to the employee

Required Qualifications
  • One-year professional nursing experience.
  • Current PA State Board Registered Nursing License.
  • Experience doing complete patient assessments.
  • Basic laboratory skills including venipuncture.
  • CPR & AED certification.
  • Experience using electronic medical records.
  • Ability to work independently within standing orders & protocols.
  • Possess current knowledge of clinical data to properly treat students.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain electronic medical records.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
  • 3 or more years professional nursing experience.
  • Experience in ER, Urgent Care, Family Practice, Pediatrics, or School Nursing.
