Position Function

Lead others in the creation and execution of opportunities presented through various connecting activities with alumni, employers, faculty, parents, and students through Career Infusion and other connecting programs. Support initiatives related to meeting industry workplace needs, fundraising and development, engaging alumni to support student career development, and development and maintenance of the experience transcript. Collaborate across the office and external to the office to identify opportunities across programs, people, and industry, and then lead others in the office to capitalize on these opportunities. Coordinate programs and services for students, alumni, and faculty in select academic departments and liaison areas; coordinate career planning and job search programs and activities; provide career advising services and educational programs for students and alumni through individual appointments and group presentations and discussion; assist with employer development and recruitment activities.

Minimum Education

Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Minimum Experience

Three years of professional experience.

Minimum Other

Demonstrated skill in relationship building, public speaking, advising, professional writing, program design, project organization and management, time management, use of Microsoft Office software.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Preferred Experience

Experience in a higher education setting such as counseling, academic advising, residence life, admissions or career services, strategically aligning offerings of a unit.

Preferred Other

Knowledge of academic programs in assigned liaison area; able to use new media for online service delivery.

Pre-Employment Screening

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Duties & Responsibilities



Job Duty

Serve as a member of the Career Center Leadership Team.



Job Duty

Ensure strategic alignment across all Career Center offerings to empower synergy between and amongst programs and services.



Job Duty

Lead others to deliver career infusion and other connecting activities to share opportunities across all components of the Career Center so as to leverage and capitalize upon the relationships and opportunities presented in each area.

Hold regularly scheduled meetings to uncover and create opportunities for internships, faculty connections, and other career infusion activities across all of the programs and services of the Career Center.



Job Duty

Have awareness of all the alumni, employers, parents, and other constituents collaborating with the Career Center across programs, and identify and implement initiatives to capitalize upon these relationships for the betterment of our students and partners.



Job Duty

Support the AVP and Executive Director in developing and maintaining a prospect list of potential donor targets and Student Affairs programs to which donors may be interested in supporting.



Job Duty

Track and report on relationships and connections outcomes, and recognize our corporate and alumni volunteers and other partners for their service to students.



Job Duty

Serve as a liaison to and provide career development and job search programs for students, alumni and faculty in assigned colleges; support other departmental liaisons as needed through providing drop-in, online, and individual career advising for students and alumni.

Engage with our industry partners to help inform the university of industry workforce needs.



Job Duty

Serve as the liaison to other university departments as assigned, providing programs and information.



Job Duty

Support departmental employer relations and recruitment activities including career fairs, networking events, information sessions, etc.

Serve on the Program Coordinating Group to plan and implement departmental programs and workshops related to professional development, job search, and other connecting activities.

Supervise student career assistants or graduate assistants as assigned.
