Full-time staff members at the University of Bridgeport are responsible for maintaining the highest standards for integrity and ethics. Staff members must be able to engage with students, faculty, and administration professionally; fulfill administrative responsibilities relevant to their positions; and participate in University and community service.

Duties to be performed:

At a minimum, the essential functions of the staff member:

Coordinator of Operations & Student Services:
  • scheduling approximately 70 – 80 courses and corresponding faculty at each of two campus locations, during each of three semesters
  • Promote education degree program to target markets including undergraduate and non-traditional prospects
  • Identify instructors, develop contracts and secure teaching agreements for all programs in the School of Education
  • Work directly with the Director of the School of Education
  • Organize and administer enrollment resolution for each course during each registration period
  • Collaborate with the Certification officer and the Registrar to certify candidates for graduation
  • Work on behalf of students to resolve scheduling conflicts, grading conflicts, and transcript and bursar issues
Coordinator of Clinical Practice:
  • facilitating clinical field experience for graduate students in the Connecticut public school districts
  • Collaborate with Superintendent and Board of Education departments to place students with TEAM trained mentor teachers
  • Organize and facilitate bi-annual seminars for resident teachers and university supervisors for policies and procedures
  • This also includes counseling and advising for academic and procedural polices on an individual basis with graduate students
Other responsibilities:
  • Serve on and provide information to University committees as needed and requested
  • Demonstrate professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitments that promotes student growth and learning
  • Assist with program specific accreditation reports as needed
  • Advising and monitoring candidates as needed
  • Commitment to the University and Department mission, vision, and values
  • Perform all duties as assigned
  • Master’s degree or greater, preferably in an Education related field
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field
  • Knowledge of Standards for Teacher Preparation
  • Demonstrated ability in MS Office programs and Internet applications
  • Demonstrated dedication and commitment to professional standards & ethics
  • Ability to work collegially in a team environment
  • Ability to exercise individual initiative, independent action and sound judgment
  • Availability to Oversee and manage adjunct Clinical Supervisors
Desired qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience teaching in public or private schools
  • Current K-12 Certification
