HARTWICK COLLEGE
PRESIDENT

The Board of Trustees of Hartwick College invites nominations and applications for its 11th President. The Board seeks a strategic, collaborative leader to build on Hartwick's 225-year legacy of innovation and academic excellence and join a student-centered community dedicated to advancing the institution for future success. The new president is expected to assume office in Summer 2022.

Hartwick College is a private, residential, liberal arts and science college serving 1,200 undergraduate students. It is located on 425 picturesque acres in the foothills of the Catskills Mountains in Oneonta, New York, and offers 35 courses of study in the full range of liberal arts and science disciplines, pre-professional programs, cooperative programs that lead to graduate degrees, and several options for certification. Hartwick delivers a comprehensive and transformative educational experience with an emphasis on experiential learning that includes personalized teaching, collaborative research, a distinctive January Term, internships, independent and faculty-led study-abroad, and active mentoring and support.

The next president of Hartwick College has an exciting opportunity to capitalize on a highly collaborative multi-year planning effort that resulted in an innovative and holistic new program – FlightPath – that transforms the way Hartwick delivers education and a full college experience. The College is seeking a President who will nurture and build upon FlightPath; grow the annual fund and endowment and raise funds for other institutional priorities; foster the conditions for a strong campus community; build a sustainable financial model; understand the demographic challenges facing higher ed and devise effective strategies to successfully meet them; embrace and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; support and advocate for a vibrant campus life; and demonstrate a commitment to student success and well-being. For additional information about Hartwick College, the position, the qualifications sought, and how to apply, please review the Hartwick College President Search Prospectus.

The position is open until filled, but only applications received by Monday, January 24, 2022, can be assured full consideration. Applications, nominations, and expressions of interest may be submitted in confidence to HartwickPresident@academicsearch.org.

Applications must include a curriculum vitae; a substantive cover letter that addresses the expectations discussed in the leadership agenda and includes a personal diversity statement that addresses how your past and/or potential contributions to diversity will support Hartwick College's diversity goals (please be sure to review Hartwick College's Diversity Statement); and contact information for five professional references who will not be contacted without your explicit permission.
