ROANOKE COLLEGE
PRESIDENT

The Board of Trustees of Roanoke College invites nominations and applications for its 12th President. The Board seeks an accomplished and inspirational leader who will be innovative and collaborative in setting an ambitious course for the future that builds on Roanoke's history and tradition of educational excellence and strengthens the institution, positioning it for long-term success.

Founded in 1842, Roanoke College is an independent, residential, liberal arts college serving 1,900 undergraduate students. It is located on an attractive 80-acre campus in Salem, Virginia, only minutes away from the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains and the city of Roanoke, which has been named a top city in which to live and retire. With a 13:1 student to faculty ratio and an average class size of 18, Roanoke features small classes and faculty mentoring. It offers an innovative core curriculum and more than 96 areas of study in the full range of liberal arts and sciences disciplines, cross-disciplinary programs, as well as programs to prepare students for careers in the health professions. The College is committed to helping students find their purpose and prepare for productive and meaningful careers and for leadership in an increasingly diverse and global community.

The next president of Roanoke College has an exciting opportunity to join and provide leadership for a friendly and welcoming community, to build upon a highly successful $200 million capital campaign, and to develop an ambitious plan to advance the College's mission. The College seeks a new president who will be highly visible and engaged in building relationships on campus and in the local community; committed to building mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations in the region; successful in fundraising and generating loyalty among alumni, students, and friends of the College; innovative, collaborative, and strategic in identifying new opportunities for enrollment growth and student success; financially astute and data-driven; and eager to model and lead innovation to meet students' needs and aspirations and to build on the College's reputation.
