Associate Director of Law Admission

Job Description Summary:
The Associate Director of Law Admission is responsible for new student recruitment and admission goals for students to the University of LaVerne College of Law. This position reports directly to the Director of Graduate Admission and works collaboratively with all campus staff and faculty to achieve enrollment goals including execution of recruiting strategies, processes, and metrics for success. Duties are to be performed in coordination and collaboration with the Dean and the College of Law.

Specific Duties:
  • Recruit new students: Generate new leads for the College of Law at the University of La Verne by conducting the following:
    • Organize and lead the admissions process as it pertains to partnerships with LSAC and other partner organizations for lead and application generation in coordination with the College.
    • Build and maintain partner relationships with educational institutions, stakeholders and community-based organizations, businesses, and other appropriate sites for recruitment in coordination with the College.
    • Represent the University at events on and off campus, conferences, fairs, networking mixers, and other appropriate events to generate leads in coordination with the College.
    • Participate and lead on-campus and virtual information sessions, during the work day, evenings and weekends as designated by Enrollment Management in coordination with the College.
    • Establish relationships with prospective students and stakeholders by providing accurate information in coordination with the College.
    • Plan and participate in admitted student events and other yield opportunities during the day, in the evening, and on weekends where appropriate in coordination with the College.
    • Must have a good understanding of law degree curriculum, learning outcomes and expectations, career opportunities, including basic knowledge of financial aid, and other onboarding processes.



  • Manage Leads: Track & follow-up with all leads in the form of RFIs, RSVPs, walk-ins or referrals through personal contact and CRM system. Work to convert prospective students to applicants with complete files and ultimately enrolled students.

  • Respond to the leads:
    • Contact new leads within 24 hours, to include RFI, applicants, walk-ins, and other populations as designated by supervisor.
    • Work closely with prospective students and applicants through the admissions process via telephone, email, virtual, and personal contact throughout the course of the admission cycle.
    • Follow up with all incomplete applications from previous terms in a timely manner to encourage completion of application for a future term.
    • Perform data searches about individual applicants and use queries so that data driven decisions can be made about recruitment practices. Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
    • Respond to all emails and phone calls within a business day, keeping consistent communication with supervisor when response time increases beyond the expectation.
  • Manage the admission file review process for the College of Law
    • Support timely review of application files and decisions. Work with appropriate stakeholders (including academic leadership and partners) and Admission Operations to coordinate and monitor the workflow for timely and accurate processing of admission applications through matriculation.
    • Staff (create, schedule and facilitate) all aspects of COL admission interviews in coordination with the Dean and the faculty admission committee.
    • Understand and administer the approved Law Scholarship plan for new students.

  • Assist supervisor and admissions directors with enrollment marketing within a CRM to target populations including but not limited to College of Law specific populations of prospects.
    • Develop, track and manage content and outcomes within the CRM.
    • Ensure effective development and deployment of communication projects, campaigns, emails, text messages, events and systems in the CRM

  • Teamwork/Collaboration: Work collaboratively with campus team to meet enrollment goals for the University of La Verne.
    • Work with the appropriate enrollment and academic program leadership in coordinating new student onboarding activities, in conjunction with campus advisors, to ensure proper academic advising and onboarding.
    • Work collaboratively with fellow teammates to support the needs of the unit and meet and exceed enrollment goals.
    • Stay educated on admission trends and best practices and contribute to the team by suggesting new ideas for marketing, programs or other relevant activities. Work with Enrollment Management Leadership to identify marketing opportunities.
    • Review COL admission webpages for needed updates and process requests as appropriate.
    • Submit deliverables to enrollment leadership by stated deadlines.

  • Achieve a high level of proficiency in products relevant to recruitment including, but not limited to, Microsoft power point, Microsoft word, WebEx, Zoom and Slate.

  • Develop holistic partnerships and alliances with College of Law faculty, staff and administration in coordination and collaboration with the Dean of the College of Law.

  • Collaborate with the College of Law to collect admissions and recruitment data needed to complete the State Bar Annual Report.

  • Be a culturally competent employee who attends/completes mandatory diversity and inclusivity trainings as provided by the university.

  • All other duties as assigned by Enrollment Management Leadership.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Understanding of admission process and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusivity.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Earned Masters degree or Juris Doctor degree.
  • Skill and capacity for the collection of data.
  • Higher Education enrollment marketing experience is highly desired. Experience in devising campaigns targeted and personalized to specific audiences within a CRM, ideally Slate.
  • Preferred experience in legal education/profession.
  • Familiarity with graduate testing (LSAT, GRE, etc.) and the Law School Admissions Council.
