MVCC is seeking to fill a full-time, 10-month Term Appointed Faculty position in our FAA approved Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Program. The Instructor provides classroom and lab instruction for students enrolled in the 1900 hour FAA A&P program located at Griffiss International Airport, Rome NY.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Teach in accordance with contractual obligation;
• Assure presented lecture/lab curriculum meets appropriate FAR147 requirements;
• Responsible for grades and attendance report for assigned teaching section of FAR147 area;
• Participate in developing recommendations for policy and procedures, including safety, for the program;
• Assure the programs, courses and instruction are meeting student transfer, job entry, and/or career advancement needs;
• Articulate and cooperate with all other offices in Instruction, Student Services and Administrative Services as appropriate;
• Participate in scheduled meetings as needed;
• Comply with College guidelines, policies, and procedures;
• Perform such other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:

• Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
• Minimum two (2) years aviation maintenance experience or aviation maintenance instructional experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in aviation related major
• Formal teaching experience in higher education or technical environment
• Three ( 3) to Five (5) years of aviation maintenance experience on various types of airframes/powerplants
